I know that it's in the forum SOMEWHERE, but can somebody clarify the landing light rule for me please ?
On my last flight I was 15 minutes into my flight and at 9,000 amsl with landing lights off but flying in in a mountainous area when I got a penalty for landing lights off below 1,000 ft. On another earlier flight, again in mountains, I got a penalty for lights on above 10,000 ft. (Seems I can't win
Is the rule requiring lights on below 1,000 ft and off above 10,000 ft, amsl or agl ?

It's better to break ground and fly into the wind, than to break wind and fly into the ground

Re: Landing Lights
It's actually explained in the wiki .

There's an additional "Landing Lights off above 3000ft AGL" rule for flights in the mountains.
