Long hauls and refueling

Post by shearder » Thu Aug 13, 2009 4:08 pm

Hi all

A question: i have tried to plan a flight that would require 2/3 refuels. First off the system tells me, when creating the route; it is ouot of range for the aircraft - obviously - so what do i do? Do i HAVE to create 3/4 extra hops as plans?? That could cause problems with flight times and bookings!!! How do i circumvent the message and secondly, how do i go about stopping and refuelling? Divert? And then just add fuel?

Thanks in advance and i hope i made some sense.

To keep my pax happy (they don't like stopovers :p) I use an appropriate a/c for the route.
But if you want to fly Los Angeles to Sydney in a B737, wise solution would be setting up multiple flightplans instead of diverting.

Hi,

As said, just break the flight down into manageable stage lengths and file a flightplan for each sector. You can use the same flight number for each of the sectors if you wish.

KLAX to YSSY in a 737?!  What route would you take? KLAX-PHNL-PKMJ-AYPY-YSSY? Now that's what I call island hopping.
