Engine Failure

Post by danmand » Sat Jul 18, 2009 4:13 pm

I had an engine failure during my landing rollout today.

Since I have failures turned off in Flight Simulator, I thought it was generated by the FSA client. However I don't see anything about it in the flight report. Do failures get reported anywhere and do we have to do any kind of maintenance as a result?

If the messages are activated in the Client options you will get a text notification in the Flight Simulator but there's no extra maintenance needed after a failure.

Well...is it not true that failures will only occur if the aircraft is in need of maintenance? ;)

Failures CAN also happen if the aircraft is in perfect shape, but it's very unlikely.

I'm beginning to wonder if the problems I'm having are failures.
Three times now on two different aircraft, my left engine has shut off right after I get the "ping" sound that I've landed. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

I had this happen to me multiple times while landing at KLAS (Four times in a row using a certain aircraft), its all random though. Maintaining the aircraft should bring the rate of failures back down.

One of my pilots has a problem where when he brings up the throttle for take off all the aircraft systems shut off....but this probably has nothing to do with this..
