Field landing in VATSIM

Post by Ionathan » Wed Feb 18, 2009 9:56 am

Hi all,

I know some of you guys do bush flying but do you know (for sure) if VATSIM accepts take-offs and landings on a field (not an airport or stripe) or at the sea or a lake?

So, what would you submit in your flightplan as departure and destination?

probably the "nearest airport" and in your flightplan remarks say your taking off from a feild or landing at sea, etc... or just tell the controller where you are

for example, when I fly a grumman goose from time to time I take off from the vancouver seaplane base at CYVR... but the controller doesn't always see that on his scope... so I say "bc north 444 with you at the south seaplane base, for water takeoff VFR to the south" etc... they'll work with ya! Have fun! :D
