What failures are simulated?

Post by Brendanair » Mon Oct 27, 2008 4:28 pm

I was just wondering what kind of failures we could expect with the client, as well as how they are generated? Is it the same method FS Passengers uses (mx status (in %) * failure likelyhood) * hourly check)?

As well, what type of failures does the client generate?
Engine abnormalities before V1 (takeoff decision speed)
Brake failiure, flap failure, cockpit smoke, fires, passenger medical problems, etc...

Hi,

As far as I am aware :-

Engine failure
Flap failure
Gear failure

Please note re engine failures, if you manage to restart the engine then it is an operating error which has caused the failure. If the client causes an engine failure you will NOT be able to restart it.

I think that currently there are no failures simulated. But as far as I know Konny is working on them right now...

Will the emergency be like the one in FSPassengers. Let’s say the landing gear will not go down and you make a safe belly landing will you receive a bonus or receive a penalty.

Yes I think so. I think that it is also going to be optional. You can either disabled damages (-> no bonus) or enable it and get a bonus if you manage a emergency...

Will there be a way to disable the failures for those of us that like to fly on VATSIM?
