Idle curiousity
If there are 946/4672 active VAs/members on FlyNET (and rising fast), how come there are only 342 registered forum members?
That seems to be a very low community participation quotient, don't you think?
Graham.

Re: Idle curiousity
Forum registration should be mandatory, don't ya think?
At least for CEO's, for sure. Should be for pilots too, there's a lot of good "how to get started" how to do this ' n ' that's on here

Well in particular there seems little point in all those "xxx is recruiting now" posts.
Anyone reading will be a well established pilot, or more likely a CEO with his own airline already.

Re: Idle curiousity
Yes, we could require that users register on the forum, but even if they went through the steps to register that does not mean there ever going to read it.

Re: Idle curiousity
I wasn't suggesting compulsory registration.
But if anyone could suggest a way of increasing the forum participation I think it would be for the good of the whole FlyNET community.
Maybe a note on the homepage saying "Why not check out our informative and friendly forum?", or some such.
Or an incentive to visit, like a monthly screenshot contest, etc.
?

Re: Idle curiousity
I think the low number of registered users is down to there being quite a few VA's who were already up and running before FlyNET came along, and they have kept their own forums on their own sites. Its probably just the ceo's who keep tabs on this Forum.
Due to Fatih's very nice FlyNET Integration Pack, its possible never to even visit the FlyNET web site, as the VA pilots can look at all the data and book their flights all from their own VA web site.
FlyNET's sort of a victim of its own success really.
That said however, with the change of forum from FlyNET to FSAirlines, I had to re-register, so I'm not sure how many people that affected.
Cheers now

Couldn't log in. So created a new account.
I used the same username as the previous forum, and it allowed the same username, so the previous one must have gone west . . . . .

Re: Idle curiousity
To test the FSAirlines website the database was copied from the FlyNET database a couple of months ago. Once we make the official move we will again copy the database from FlyNET to FSAirlines so all your current accounts will be transferred. Unfortunately all the new accounts on FSAirlines created before we transfer will have to be removed as its not really possible to merge the data.
Part of the reason we decided to do this was so we could do things that we would normally try to avoid, like crashing and penalties, to fully test the new site and not worry about damaging our airlines.

Re: Idle curiousity
On the subject of transfering the accounts, will you be transfering all the seemingly dormant accounts too? There looks like quite a few where there has been no activity for 12 months+. Looks like a good opportunity to weed out these defunct airlines?
