My usual method of flying long flights is to climb to my target altitude and then accelerate to x16 and continue to monitor the gauges, mostly to monitor fuel consumption. I understand that some pilots think this is tantamount to cheating, but I can't see how someone can say that's bad but leaving it at 1x and going to sleep or work is any better. Anyway a pilot wants to fly is fine with me.
I've sworn an oath of solitude until the pestilence is purged from the lands.

I only made 2 long haul flights so far (10 and 8 hours) and all were 1x because they were on IVAO (so you may also realise that I was there except making coffe or answering the natures call ).
Anyway I don't like long hauls as once you are up in the air there is almost nothing to do (unlike the real aviation) bu reading a book, watching TV or chatting on YM/MSN.
