Database query

Post by anz102 » Thu Nov 30, 2006 8:47 pm

Hi, hopefully just a quick question.
Are all the virtual airlines out there listed in the database?
Or can airlines list themselves as anonymous? Or are there computer generated, fake virtual airlines out there?

I ask as I see an airline on some similar routes as the airline I co-CEO but I can't find it in the database (ie to see their route structure etc). There might be an option of code sharing as well, but not if I can't see them.

I won't name the airline yet, just a general question to start with.

The virtual airlines page in the database only shows airlines that have aircraft in there fleet.

Ok, thanks for that Joe.
So if they are 'competing' on our routes, despite having no fleet, are they going to affect our business?
What's the point of having routes but no aircraft?

Good question, I don't really know what there effect would be on competition. For that matter there are airlines that setup hundreds of routes that they never fly. I would think that a reasonable approach would be that a competing route has no effect unless it has been flown in the last 30 days.
