Airbus A380 end of production

Post by joefremont » Sat Aug 28, 2021 10:10 pm

I see that the final Airbus A380, serial number 272 made its maiden flight on 17 March 2021 when it few from Toulouse to Hamburg for cabin outfitting.

I guess its time to set the A380 as an out of production aircraft. The Boeing 747 is also about to end production, with the last one supposed to be delivered in 2022. It will be ironic if the last A380 is delivered before the last B747 since it was intended to be its successor.

I just read that the last A380 will be delivered next month. Since the production line has already been shut down and the last delivery is days away I have gone and set the A380-800 as out of production and as usual given it a 50% price cut.

Total production of the A380 will be 118 units. Total production of the 747-8 will be 155 assuming all orders are built and no more orders are received.

Sad day, when they are finally gone. As with the A380, when we have a confirmation that the last aircraft has rolled out of the factory I will change the 747-8's to out of production.

I read that second to last 747-8 has left the factory and the final aircraft (#1574) has entered "Final body join". The end of 747 production will be soon.

For now the 747-8F is still listed as 'In Production' but I have updated the passenger version, the 747-8i so that it is now an out of production aircraft, with a corresponding price cut. As soon as we learn the last 747-8F leaves the factory we it will do the same for it.
