Re: Maintenance Cost Formula revisited

If a D check is only done every 5 years it may be beyond the time frame we deal with, plus I would not want anyone turning there old airframes into beer cans. (besides, beer should be served in bottles not cans). We could make failures optional, but there probably should be some reward or bonus for ...

Re: Maintenance Cost Formula revisited

... So, to maintenance. Higher hull value, higher profits. Lower hull value, lower profits. Maintenance costs I think should be based on hull values to keep everything relative. ... While I agree with the first part of this, Higher hull value, higher profits. Lower hull value, lower profits, I don'...

Re: Refueling

The way its supposed to work, if your flying from A to C and realize you need fuel, then you can push the emergency button and land at B, end the flight. You will not receive any revenue and will be charged for the fuel purchased at A. You then start your flight again and fly from B to C, you will b...

Re: STEVE FOSSET'S PLANE FOUND!!!!

I saw that on the news, sad that he ended up that way. I think everyone assumed that's what happened when he disappeared, at least by a week afterwards.

Re: Flight Cheated

The report says the AC used no fuel, I will recalculate it and clear the cheat since it shows that you did purchase some. Did anything unusual happen with fueling on this flight? Did you park on the fueling station in FS? Did the client adjust the amount of fuel on board when the flight started?

Re: having some trouble with client and site...

That table that showed the number of current/total flights seamed to be using up a lot of cycles, so I turned it off for now until I can make it more efficient.

Re: wrong aircraft error

Cessna's numbers for the 206 are:

Dry Operating Weight 1017 kg
Max Take Off Weight 1633 kg

So I changed it to that, with a Max Zero Fuel Weight 1633 kg.

Re: Problem with 1-11

I think our assumption is that all flights are multi class seating. So while you could put 109 economy seats into the AC, 99 would probably be a more balanced load.

Maintenance Cost Formula revisited

Hi All, I am reviving a proposal I made many moons ago: Right now the maintenance costs of an aircraft are based on a percentage of its market value. This can produce some unrealistic numbers especially when dealing with older out of production where the real world market value is very low compared ...

Re: Price of 727's too low

Chris, I am not apposed to changing the way we calculate maintenance costs. Many moons ago I made this proposal that was not accepted, of course at the time I was not in a position to implement it. http://www.fsairlines.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1037&p=5078 I am willing to revive that proposal a...

Re: Problem with 1-11

How much it can carry and how much it does carry are two different things Joe. The numbers Dave posted are the correct numbers. The lower holds are HUGE on the 1-11 and can hold exactly what they state. Have they ever carried that much? Not likely, but it is possible to do. As he showed, this is fr...

Re: Landing light penalty

The penalty will not apply until your at least 3000ft ALG. So for an airport at 9000ft you have to 12000ft to turn those lights off.
