Re: Flight Range restrictions
I agree that fuel/hour would be more accurate but getting hours has its own problems, especially for x-plane. So fuel/distance would give a valuable base line to compare flights with. If fuel used / distance compared to max fuel / max distance is less than some ratio it may need looking at.

Flight Range restrictions
In anticipation of adding service stops for flights and to allow ferry flights I had relaxed the range restrictions on flights to 2 times the posted range, but it seems some members were taking advantage of this to fly unrealistically long flights, including a slew of Concorde flights at over 7000 n...

Re: Aircraft Status.
I am reworking the formulas for status of the various system statuses. The goal is that for a normal 4 hour flight done correctly each system will lose 0.1% if flown with a 100x multiplier. Note the square root of the multiplier in the formula already, so for those same flights at 1x will lose 0.01,...

Re: Aircraft Status.
Is a good idea, but I thing it will be more accurated if the landing are 3000 or 5000fpm. At this point i'm sure the plane would be no able to fly  Interesting idea, I had considered making some updates to the 'crash' system so that if an AC bumps into something at the airport at a slow speed ...

Re: Aircraft Status.
It is very difficult to achieve a touchdown rate below 500 FpM in a Concorde, which typically has a final approach (threshold) speed of at least 160 KIAS which equates to 800 FpM down a typical 3 degree glideslope and there was very little flare involved for landing, but it did have rather strong u...

Re: Online flight server
That would be a whole new system, since there are other services that do the online flying and chat that can be used in parallel with us I think we will continue to focus more on the economics.

Re: Aircraft Status.
reference document link: https://flightsafety.org/fsd/fsd_aug04.pdf That document says airbus recommend an inspection when the vertical speed on touchdown exceeds 10 feet per second, that translates to 600 fpm, the average VS for all flights in FSA over the last two years is 243 (280 for 747's) so ...

Re: Aircraft Status.
At 900 fpm we might as well scrap the whole feature. Too many pilots want to just turn on approach hold and have it slam the aircraft down on the runway without any attempt at a flare. Approach hold, which is not autoland, will typically put you down at 700 fpm. The best definition of hard landing I...

This was built the same way we always build it. For the virus software it often that it has not seen it before. But I should look into digitally signing it.

Re: New things to add??
Interesting Idea and should not be too difficult, will ad to todo list. Hey, I see you've added the drop down but when I was trying to use it, it didn't seem to filter anything. I have already setup the flights with hubs/fleets. Maybe your still working, just sending some feed back... Ah yes, I sta...

Re: Client 2.2.4 Released!
Also of note, if you look at the aircraft information page on the website you can now see the breakdown in the status compared to Engines, Gear and Hull. Be aware you may see the status of some of your multi engine aircraft reduced. Before this update, the status of each engine was give the same imp...

Client 2.2.4 Released!
Hi Flyers, This is a minor update to the client, high points of this update are: - Damage due to hard landings is decreased by about 50%. - The landing vertical speed is now displayed in the Penalty/Events area of the client so you can see what your landing speed was before submitting the report. - ...
