i have been caught by this several times since the landing lights go out on gear retraction on several aircraft i fly

since gear goes up on a postive rate of climb i accept 95% as my norm for some aircraft

or as i do, i set the parking brake and alt tab out of FS so i can see the flynet screen and then select the "end flight button" then go back to FS and shut down.

i kept getting the light penality below 1000ft because i was shuttting down before flynet realised i had finished the flight
