Re: CEOs, CEOs everywhere...
Well there are (currently) 820 airlines and 3618 users, so presumably there are almost 4 times as many pilots as CEOs ;) Speaking as one who started working for another company before moving my existing airline to FSA, I would say that it is entirely irrelevant to me how many pilots others have on t...

Closed airport
Hi
Shefield City Airport (EGSY/SZD) is closed to all traffic (except for a helipad desinated for police/ambulance use) as of 30/04/08.
Given that there are no flights to/from the airport in FSA, and that it is being redeveloped as a business park, should it not be removed from the database?

Yes indeed, thank you very much. The maximum length for Routes is now 512 character, hope that's enough.

Re: Passenger Weight
In the real world, one uses a "standard" weight for each passenger and his/her baggage when planning the weights for a flight. FSAirlines is similar to that and it uses 82 KG per person and 25 KG of baggage. This is similar to the current ICAO & IATA guidance regarding flight planning. Ummm, that s...

Re: Passenger Weight
I think the 102kg includes a 27kg baggage allowance, so the actual passenger weight is 75kg which is probably a good average.

Route information box
It seems that the route field for flight plans is limited to 180 characters? This is really not enough for some long haul routings, so is it possible that this field could be increased to say 256 characters? Unrelated question, the ICAO for Denpasar [Ngurah Rai - Bali Intl] is given as WRRR in the a...

Re: Airport Populations and PSO flights
I think there is already a system where a proportion of the passengers that you fly in to an airport, stay there (as transit passengers). I don't know what that proportion is (maybe it can be increased at some airports) but the point is that some PAX stay in the system and can be used again. They ar...

Aircraft at airports, and fuel price.
The new system to limit passenger availability at some airports got me thinking about aircraft. I just looked at EGCC, where fuel is cheap, and found over 500 aircraft there! Where do they all park? In the future, I for one, would like to see a variation of fuel pricing, to avoid such concentrations...

Re: Pilots free to work for more than one VA - how about this?
I would like to be able to fly contract flights, particularly for partnership airlines, without giving up my VA or taking their profits via a codeshare. This could promote closer links between airlines and develop more of a community atmosphere. It is clear that membership of more than one airline w...

Re: Client Haywire: Incorrect Budget and flightstate and Speed!
There is no wind factors so IAS should be roughly the same as true airspeed That is incorrect. The relationship between IAS and TAS of course varies with altitude. In your example the client shows 216KIAS which is about 360KTAS at F310. The difference between that and your target speed of 345KTAS i...

One way is by using the VA integration. Not sure if its the only way though.

Thanks Christopher. I don't think that it is an issue with my browser, because my signature and the BBCode/smilies work fine in other sections of this board. It is only in the Important announcements forum that those options are disabled for me, to the extent that the check boxes you mention are not...

Re: Airport Populations
I think it extremely unlikely that you will find no passengers available to fly Well that was my point John. If the system will not restrict passengers at some airports, like you are suggesting, then it is a pointless addition to the complexity of FSAirlines. If on the other hand it will, then we s...

Re: Airport Populations
Interesting idea. [quote]Additionally, once a day the population will be "refilled", otherwise all people would be gone some day.[/quote] I assume the new system means that if there are no (or few) passengers available then a flight from that airport can't be filled? If so two (semi-serious) questio...

Re: Status of the flight.
As reported by several users, if the flight state remains the same for an extended period, like with a long cruise, then the client sometimes loses the status even if the tracker is turned on. It never seems to have any direct effect on the flight though, and as soon as the state changes (to descent...
