Client 2.2.5 Released
I have just released version 2.2.5 of the client. This revises both the aircraft damage and system failure systems of the client. For aircraft damage I went back to the drawing board and tried to come up with a rational plan of how much damage an average flight would do and worked backwards from the...

Re: new client update.
My initial scan went back 60 days, my initial pass found some interesting results, for some reason airbus reports the A330-200F as having a 4000nm range while the A330-200 has a 7800 nm range, despite that both having the same fuel capacity and the F is lighter, so in that case some false positives ...

Re: new client update.
I can't confirm it yet, but it might be because I have been working on some code to identify low fuel usage based on fuel/distance ratios. We identified two flights, both E195 flights flown 2019-02-09 and the fuel usage on these flights was recalculated. I am not certain if those two flights would e...

Re: Client 2.2.4 Released!
I just uploaded a beta release of the client. I have re-tuned the system damage functions and adjusted chance of a system failure so they are much less likely, at status 90% there is only a 1% chance, at status 80% there is a 4% chance. The reason this is a beta is there is one bug a pilot reported ...

Re: Aircraft Status.
having the flaps and gear down when your flying to fast could be added That would need an enormous database of limit speeds for every aircraft  Not necessarily, for the most part that data is already in the aircraft.cfg file. Hopefully FSUICP/SimConnect has a way to read it, and of course X-...

Re: Aircraft Status.
I agree the theme of KSI, that 'landing too smoothly' is not something we really want to deal with. Currently for the gear it's all about the landing. For the hull for a successful four hour flight its half landing and half hours. The landing also factors into engines but less than on the hull (you ...

Re: Aircraft Status.
I spent some more time on the formula, first some data. The median average of all landings on FSA since the start of 2016 is 170 fps and 77% of all landings are less than 300 fps, so I think expecting pilots to shoot for 300 or less an achievable goal. Based on that I thought the formula should be f...

Re: Aircraft Status.
Question: did you already implement the status hit for aircraft parked more than 30 days or are we seeing a simple "adjustment" to the new formula? Seeing guys make really good landings and get hit with .3% reductions in status. Just curious, thanks again for all your hard work! Regards, Sam I did ...

Re: Aircraft Status.
I have been working on the formula and I think I came up with something that is workable. As before its based on the kinetic energy when the AC hits the runway so the damage does go up geometrically, but not quite as brutal as you were suggesting Scott. It is essentially flat through 300 fps, 400 fp...

Re: Difference in flight hours between X-Plane and Prepar3D
With P3D it works correctly, but with P3D it doesn't. I assume you ment to say with P3D it work correctly, but with X-Plane it doesn't. There is a problem with the XPUIPC interface which is supposed to be compatible with FSUPIC, but there is a timer interface we use with FSUIPC but XPUIPC did not i...

So I assume nobody likes the 'Firm Landing' idea?joefremont wrote: ↑Tue Jan 29, 2019 6:42 pmQuestion, when we do increase the 'Hard Landings' limit to 600 should we add a 'Firm Landing' warning with no ratings deduction for 400-599 fpm?

Re: Flight Range restrictions
I agree that fuel/hour would be more accurate but getting hours has its own problems, especially for x-plane. So fuel/distance would give a valuable base line to compare flights with. If fuel used / distance compared to max fuel / max distance is less than some ratio it may need looking at.
