Re: Problem to Import flight plan from TXT file
I just did a test and it works just fine for me. "Does Not Work" is a pretty vague description. What does the system say when you attempt to import a text file?

Re: Maintenance Centers
Thanks Joe! That certainly makes owning Maintenance Centers seem more feasible .... but it will still take good bean counting to make them work for each airline.... that is a good thing ..... If there is no challenge, then there is no fun

Re: Maintenance Centers
I just crunched the financial numbers and it makes no fiscal sense for an airline our size to own two Maintenance Centers without acquiring outside work from other airlines ... We have 52 active aircraft from C172 to B777L. Our initial thoughts were to have a Medium center in Boise for our small pla...

Thanks!
One more question: what determines the difference between SUPER, INTERNATIONAL, INTERCONTINENTAL, REGIONAL, MUNI airports?

Re: some thought about more realistic
PARKING FEE'S - Kind of buried within this topic now .... We are now getting questions from our pilots how much to park where? Is there a table/chart of prices we can look at? If a plane is left for more than a week, does the rate go up, down or not change? We have to wait a month to see how much we...

Re: Flights to remote areas
GPS distance from any fixed point would work I should think. No overnight parking, have to drop and go with simulator still running as there would be no way to restart from said imaginary airport...... No fuel, no services .... just back country full on bush flying to a spot on a map .... maybe set ...

Re: Maintenance Centers
So a blue dot indicates one year past due but still flyable? Will it turn red when it goes to 2 years?
This is the problem with buying used aircraft that have not been serviced LOL We picked this one up in February.

Re: Maintenance and Fee Changes
We also track our fleets and finances in separate spreadsheets using Google Sheets so we can link them up for pilots to view in real time. We have sold off a lot of rarely used aircraft last year and are selling off another 20 to bring the "pilot to aircraft" ratio more into balance. The airlines th...

Re: Maintenance and Fee Changes
Hi Simon! From the information I've been gathering, once an aircraft passes 2 year anniversary of its last service, it's a "pumpkin" and has to serviced at full price where it sits, no flying to a service center, no transferring. Billing the parking fee's is a major concern for us as well .... the l...

Re: some thought about more realistic
Yeah, it was our owner (Tim) original idea back in 2012. Then we got a guy who is really good with spreadsheets and using Google sheets and he linked them all up to a master ledger. It's pretty neat to look at any given aircraft and see it's history from day 1 with the airline. We track not only inc...

Re: some thought about more realistic
I've been on it, looks about the same to me .... took me awhile to find the 'actions' thingy you are talking about ... duh ... Fleets. We have aircraft logs for every aircraft from day of purchase so we know when it was last serviced just by our own paperwork .... Our CFO is a spreadsheet wizard and...

Re: some thought about more realistic
Yeah, before we decided to go with our 1 year annual requirement program last year we were shocked at how many planes had not been serviced since purchase and some of them were 6 yrs old at the time!! We spent just over $64 million to get our fleet "compliant" with current 1 year annual inspections.
