Re: Price of 727's too low
Some of the RW jetliners you can get for a few mil are old junkers that are only two or three flights away from the scrap yard and the value reflects the scrap value of the airframe. Also since we added the ticket factor the extra revenue they can produce will offset there less fuel efficient engin...

Re: Price of 727's too low
I agree with John Although Im not overly concerned with the size of our coffers , the most modern aircraft that VHA operates is the BAe146 - it is VERY difficult to make a huge profit with any second generation Jet and nye on impossible with first gen. (with the exception of the 707/Dc8) Even "back ...

Re: cruise speeds...
Actually Chris we do them on every charter we fly -- along with a white bucket test by the crews -- its the only way the feds let us use non contract fuel -- self audit so lets see Reno, Laughlin,Tunica plus the NCAA charters probably 15-20 a week

Re: cruise speeds...
thats alright Hezza - Theres one ex-patriot Brit here trying to correct them ;) sometimes it makes me wish for the bad old days roaring down from Luton to Palma on the jumpseat of a Dan Air 1-11 with the overspeed "clacker" circuit breakers pulled -- when flying the barber pole was considered the no...

Re: cruise speeds...
Right Dave  We (the real airline) like everyone else in this day and age fly constant mach where possible for two reasons economy and economy 8) We flight plan the MD80 at .75 for best fuel efficiency then let ISA decide best flight level /IAS. This yields a burn (again this applies to the Mad...

Re: Taxi speed penalty during take-off run
Actually it wasn't a stupid edit Oban was loaded by one of the members of VHA - originally as OBN/EGEO as you say the computer doesn't give a damn so long as the 1s and 0's match up - in this case he used FS9s lat/lon to load it into FSA- so there was no -problem whatsoever -- as you say its nomencl...

Re: Taxi speed penalty during take-off run
