Re: Aircraft Transfers
If one puts in GPS direct in fsxmap.com, this is what you get. But the Kodiak does not have the range to cross that vast expanse of Atlantic ocean so we have to go further north and island hop it. https://i.imgur.com/6ZPjSst.jpg I am betting when it's all said and done, the numbers will be relativel...

Re: Aircraft Transfers
"The Great Northern Circle Route" is actually shorter than GPS direct as the Earth is more narrow the further north& south of the Equator you go. It looks further on a flat map but looks are deceiving. LOL

Re: Aircraft Transfers
So far, after landing tonight at Faroe Islands (halfway between Norway and Iceland), we've spent $5544 so it looks like the standard transfer fee is the cheapest way to go. I doubt I will be below the original standard transfer fee when we arrive in Michigan. I'm guessing we will come in around $12,...

Re: Aircraft Transfers
Just for kicks I am solo ferrying a Quest Kodiak II Float plane from S. Greece to Michigan USA just to see with 0 pax and 0 cargo the whole way (as we would not have Euro credentials to haul for profit, this would be US FAA part 91 ferry flight). I want to see how much such a flight actually costs t...

Aircraft Transfers
Just a random thought - why don't aircraft transfers put any time or wear on the aircraft? We are paying someone to "fly" to our desired destination but it always arrives in pristine condition (the same it was when it left the destination).

Re: CLIENT NOT RUNNING since the las update
Did you try to uninstall and restart and then reinstall the new stable client? 2.6.0 I've had issues in the past where installing the new client over the old one caused some "funky" things to happen. Also make sure your sim is not on when you install the client.

Re: Technial stop Limitations
tech stops were supposed to be like refueling stops for aircraft that could not make the distance non stop. I call this pure abuse of the system. I would put the max limit at 3. There is no purpose in booking a flight around the world in say a CRJ2 with a gazillion technical stops as the flight will...

Re: Relinquishing Type Certificate
As a commercial ATP pilot, one can only hold one active type rating at any given time regardless of how many ratings one has. AKA 737 pilots cannot fly A300's etc If one wants to change types in airline work, they would then go through refresher training provided they had the type rating originally ...

Relinquishing Type Certificate
Is there any way a pilot can voluntarily reliquinsh a type certificate that has expired? I have several aircraft I no longer fly and those expired type certificates are causing my type "happiness" rating to be 8.78 of 20 due to said expired certificates

Re: In Flight Failures
that'll work. Yeah I was just throwing crazy ideas out there. I am also one to take a nap on a long flight, but I have my Virtual CDU app on my Kindle so I can check progress from the nightstand. LOL connects via wifi to sim computer.

Re: In Flight Failures
With all the recent issues with birds, maybe throw in a totally random (nothing to do with maintenance status) "bird strike engine failure".... LOL that will wake up a sleepy pilot in the sim.

Re: In Flight Failures
I am not exactly sure what failures are available, but here's my 2 cents worth: Engine Failure - for sure an A Check as that failed engine will need to be changed out and the entire engine mount/cowling wing area inspected with detail to detect any additional damage (such as melted wires). Engine fa...

Re: Don't Auto-Submit upon a crash.
Agree on the option to turn off. There are times when the sim just goes bonkers on you, regardless of which software you are running and to be penalized for such an event is pretty unfair. Example FSX - Steam at times will go into an uncontrolled glitch only feet from touchdown smashing you into the...
