Re: Cargo beta testing

Question regarding "opposite direction to hub" connection flights:

Say we pick up packages at KIDA destination KDFW and fly them WEST to KBOI to connect with our 738 going from KBOI to KDFW. Does the connection flight still get paid even tho it is taking the packages further away from destination?

Re: Cargo beta testing

just picked up a glitch with package system ... if you click "select packages" after booking the flight you don't see much. If you use the LEFT side package link then select the airport you are at you will see the full list.

Re: Cargo beta testing

Fragile cargo would have a different rate Hazardous Materials would have a different rate and not able to ship with passengers So "Packages" simply refers to general air cargo that is not hazardous or fragile. Priority Packages with their two day shipment requirements may be considered mail or Amazo...

Re: Cargo beta testing

I just thought before the system gets put out there live, we should test the penalty aspect to make sure that is all working correctly. So I am going to "sit" on one 88lb package and see what happens. Picked it up July 29. Not priority, just normal 4 day air freight.

Re: Cargo beta testing

Has anyone tested the "failed delivery" penalty yet?

I have one package for Twin Falls I am going to sit on and see what happens when the expiration date to deliver hits.

Re: Cargo beta testing

Question regarding Maintenance Centers and cargo ... are they fleet specific or airline specific? Our Maintenance Centers operate independently from our fleets so we can track profitability. So the "fleet" they are assigned to has no aircraft. I have yet to find a link that allows me to offload pack...

Re: Cargo beta testing

Still trying to figure out the best way to handle this, maybe a flag on the flight list page showing its been amended, or even a different page or va interface endpoint showing updated reports? At this time we are simply going to make an addendum to our airline SOP requiring pilots to declare packa...

Re: Cargo beta testing

OK - looks like the financial bugs have been resolved. No more duplicate postings on my last test. Here are the numbers - showing it is very much to airline operators' advantage to employ the new package system as far as making more money. I flew a 733 from San Jose to Las Vegas with packages on boa...

Re: Cargo beta testing

Very interesting. It seems to work as advertised. I sent you a message Joe giving you details of my first test. I am now testing the aircraft transfer process on this next flight. I picked up packages in a Dash 8 and will transfer them (or attempt to anyway) to a CRJ7 for final delivery. This is rea...

Re: Its been quiet here

Well I am 2300 miles away from my main sim at home, been a long summer overseeing house projects for my mom. Still waiting on the driveway to be dug out and relaid. Over the years it has risen to the point of being nothing but a damn dam and in the spring thaw it backs up the water that then finds a...

Re: Training flights

Makes no fiscal sense to use a training flight to transfer airplanes when you can be making money instead. We often prefer to fly our planes to new base instead of transfer them so they can be profitable on the way there.

Exactly! Parking Fee's are more than reasonable compared to real world.
