Airline Rebranding (Name Change) Fee Proposal

Should we adopt a program where VA owners get one free name change - a "mulligan" in golfing terms - and then have to pay a virtual fee for others thereafter? Real airlines spend millions to rebrand their business and repainting aircraft is also an expensive endeavor. I propose a base fee (to cover ...

Re: Client 2.4.2

Well if you can get the cheaters to stop cheating, which we can't, then I would assume Joe would loosen the reg. Just like the real world, many of the rules in place here are not intended to hinder the honest users but an attempt to keep the cheaters corraled in. At one point before the rule was imp...

Re: Client 2.4.2

500 AGL should be the low altitude penalty trigger, not 1000 - so if you are flying at 1000 MSL, the penalty will seem "random" due to rising/lowering terrain.

Regarding approaches, it should never be triggered unless you are dragging it in below 500 AGL from many miles out.

Re: Client 2.4.2

New Client Update Feature: Please move the "high speed enabled tab" out from under the "Fly" tab on the first page. A double click on "Fly" is all it takes to disable high speed penalty (and thus get a penalty LOL) without knowing it.

Re: Personal Planes

You CAN, but it requires airline cooperation to give you your own "fleet" and permissions to do what you need to in order to operate it as a division of the mothership.

Re: Personal Planes

You cannot make money with personal aircraft. They are for enjoyment only. You pay the cost, fuel and maintenance but you do not have to pay parking fee's nor will the plane be hit with any status deductions for not flying every 60 days. I use mine to fly from hub to hub instead of buying tickets on...

Re: Airport Update 2020

IMPORTANT: Pilots must realize their location is determined by lat/long position and not by any specific airport code number. So when in doubt, a pilot should CHECK THE FSA AIRPORT DATABASE before departure to ensure the airport they are flying to in their sim matches the location they are flying to...

Re: Create New Fleet

Yup I agree - it's just a thing I thought people should be aware of. We split our main fleet yesterday to a new hub and this morning I got messages from pilots with no access to the aircraft that were relocated in the new flight. Whoopsie. The same feature holds true for new aircraft acquired. The t...

Create New Fleet

This is not a true "bug" but it certainly can be a problem if VA operators do not understand it: When a new fleet is created, any rank that has aircraft access by fleet will have that new fleet access defaulted to NO. The new fleet must be manually assigned to all ranks that need access to the new f...

Re: Cargo System/Packages

Yeah I am not pushing for it after looking at all the details involved. With our pay scale at 10% across the board, the more senior pilots flying larger aircraft are getting paid more than the junior ones flying regionals, so what we have works. I was just trying to figure out a way to make the pack...

Re: Cargo System/Packages

I'm sure the super jumbo guys are going really tilt the stats, especially the ones who are gaming the system flying full loads with full fuel which is not possible in the real world. They will be the ones who will whine and howl about losing all their money LOL

Re: Cargo System/Packages

Actually pilots do have some control over the routes they fly as they bid on routes via the seniority system with the top seniority pilots usually getting everything they bid on and the lowest new hires getting leftovers. And yes I would highly recommend a max per hour figure although if the airline...

Re: Cargo System/Packages

The main problem with the FSA system is the "final mile" pilots get hosed on income as most of the money goes to the long hauler. I can make more flying generic cargo on a regional trip than completing a package delivery from a previous flight. The system is so complicated, I see no easy fix other t...

Re: Cargo System/Packages

Thanks, I try to help when I can. If you want to see how we have our books set up, you can go to our website, click on Finance Dept link in the top of the home page then the 2021 Ledger and it will show our entire airline at a glance. We have individual log sheets for each aircraft as well, you can ...
