Re: Cargo/Package payment ideas

Right now warehouses do not affect the number of packages, number of flights do and flights between airports will add packages on that route. I suppose having a warehouse at an airport would tell those nearby that they can ship there package from that airport, so it would not hurt to have that as pa...

Re: My wishes for the year 2020

Interesting ideas, the client by IP address would be a challenge, not sure how I would do that so it would be a lot of work. I do admit I neglect the XML interface a bit and most of your ideas make sense, links to the graphs in the report would probably be easier than making it part of the XML inter...

Re: Restrict number of passangers and cargo packed onboard

Your flight currently has booked 6015 kg of generic cargo and 5000 kg of packages, because packages are variable and can go up or down before the flight actually starts it leaves generic cargo at maximum until you start the flight in the client, then the system will lock down the packages and reduce...

Re: Cargo/Package payment ideas

Couple more things to add to the idea. I figure the cost of ground delivery will probably be same as air freight at about 100 nm distance, so the cost of delivering a 200kg package would be about 4v$ per nm, different size packages would have different formulas but would maintain the same basic form...

Re: Cargo/Package payment ideas

I came up with this cargo idea because there are some pilots who for reasons of language or other limitations seem incapable of understanding how it works, and I was trying to think of a way to make it simpler to use. You may have seen the post from our german friend, he seems to just loads package ...

Re: Cargo/Package payment ideas

Hi Sam, Not exactly, if the VA retains the package all the way to its final destination, things stay as they are now. This idea only takes makes a difference where the pilot 'delivers' or 'releases' the package short of its destination. Edit: Lets say in my first example the package from KSFO to KJF...

Cargo/Package payment ideas

Hi Flyers, I had a brain wave last night about our cargo system and they way some pilots have had problems with it. Two issues I see with the current system are: if a pilot gets a package closer to its destination, why should they not get paid something for that? And: If a pilot arrives at an airpor...

Re: Cargo System/Packages

Tilo I think I see one thing you are doing, you are going to the packages under Virtual Airline which is much more complicated to use, instead after booking your flight choose "Select Packages" (Pakete Auswahlen) in right side options immediately after booking your flight (Flug Buchen). This is desi...

Re: Time Acceleration/Flight Hours

'Hours' is always a relative thing. What is the difference between the pilot who flies across an 8 hour transatlantic flight mostly at x16 and the pilot who does the same flight at 1x but is way from the computer for 7.5 hours. To me there is no difference.

Re: Technical Stop (thank you)

Just another note on this, I saw that some airlines were using the technical stop field as a way to enter notes on the flight, Since it is the client that needs to understand that I have made a couple changes so that its used the way its intended. So when you enter the values, enter only airport ICA...

Also an aircraft must be serviced every 2 years to be flown, and to sell or lease it, it must have been serviced within the last year.

Re: Copilots

I'm working on it, most of the website code is done and I am still testing. Need to make a few adjustments to the client and a few other things to do and then its ready. The hard part is just finding weekend time when I can finish up all the parts.

Re: Time Acceleration/Flight Hours

It sort of would be nice if the client calculated the actual hours but right now it does not. In places where it reduces it by the acceleration rate, if its a four hour flight but one hour is spent at 1x and three 'hours' spent at 4x the reduced time is a total of one hour, where it would be nice if...

Re: How to batch upload your Flightplans

This should be fixed now, the last two columns in the comma separated lists are the fleet_id's and technical stop airport codes, both separated by spaces.
