Re: yay,another VA.

There's also a bit of symbolism in the arrows besides representig the initials of your company; they almost imply to me that your airline gets me there and back.

Re: yay,another VA.

I have to say that I'm impressed with your billboard colors. Modern, simplistic, much like many of the current European air carriers — and many US carriers of late. It works well.

Re: Hubs Maintenance Facilities And Gates

The only thing the initial multiplier should be for is the "help" to purchase aircraft as a new airline. The expenses should be "equal" to all, according to their income, thus simulating a more true economy for all. I'm still not quite grasping how the multipliers would help purchase new aircraft i...

Re: Hubs Maintenance Facilities And Gates

Given I was a former flight student who's flight school had an MEL for their training aircraft, I'm quite familiar with the door-stop/make-shift-weapon-to-beat-a-terrorist-to-death-with. It think it had to have added 20 pounds to our weight and balance in those poor Cherokees. LOL, I don'...

Re: Maintenenace / repair bills

No... he posted a funny bulletin about pilots bailing out etc. Im not trying to hinder startup VA's... not the point of this at all... but a level playing feild when it comes to things like repairs... it really SHOULD be level. Startup VA's already have the advantage of being able to fly ONE ...

Re: Maintenenace / repair bills

Multiplying the cost of repairs along with the revenue would pretty well render away most of the point of the multipliers. And starting at a lower modifier wouldn't likely change the number of pop-up, one-man VAs much, as I think the ambition to start your own VA is the primary motivator more than t...

Re: Hubs Maintenance Facilities And Gates

Yeah. Our two mechanics mostly sit around drinking coffee and sharing dirty emails all day. It's interesting to watch them repair lights, change wheels, or swap out modules in the avionics bay. The changing out of a cockpit window during a snow storm was rather interesting to watch. Draped a tarp ov...

Re: Maintenenace / repair bills

Is there any actual thought going into any of this by the admins / developers here? Has this thread changed anything? I know you have a new client coming and some changes, bhut why not open up those changes to discussion amongst your users, instead of just "throwing them at us". this whole idea abo...

Re: Hubs Maintenance Facilities And Gates

Every airline has a maintenance facility based somewhere. These facilities are usually located at the airlines first hub ever established. These facilities include hangers and parts bays. Most of the airlines maintenance personel work at these facilities where most of the maintenance resources are ...

Re: Hubs Maintenance Facilities And Gates

I've stated before that I like the idea of maintenance centers, so long as they aren't the only place you must do maintenance (as that's not realistic). I like the idea of discounts for the facilities. Monthly gate fees are also a good idea, but would we differentiate from gate types? At the very ba...

Re: Addition of Airplane Articles

should this be made in a seperate list though or on the aircraft page itself. i think a list with everythign together would be best myself. A separate list would be cleaner, but on the aircraft page itself would be more logical. Fortunately, Wiki mark-up lets you reference certain sections of anoth...

That was my main idea. Just something to aid others in finding suitable aircraft for the types.

Re: Addition of Airplane Articles

Would it be kosher to list models, panels, and related files for the aircraft on these pages as well? Or would that be opening up a can of worms?

Re: Imagine Airways

Yeah. I've been taking it slow with mine. My goal is to start out small, get some repaints made, earn a few more aircraft, and plan out my route structure. I've been talking with a guy I know that does dispatching for another VA (they're not on FSA though) and see if he can't give me pointers. I'm h...

Re: Imagine Airways

Have you tried recruiting in forums? I know Avsim has a VA section for such stuff. I've also seen people on the feelThere forums, pitching their airlines to users of their payware aircraft.
