Re: Ilyushin Il86 ticket factor

Cheers Joe. It'll certainly help. Even though the Soviets/Russians have built some great (mainly military) planes, they've lagged behind the West when developing economical turbofans for airliners. Their best designs (newest PS-90 & SaM146) have a lot of Western input.

Ilyushin Il86 ticket factor

The Il-86 is an old and thirsty plane and, being a widebody with primative low-bypass engines, it doesn't really have a true Western equivalent. It's kind of a cross between a B707 & an A340-200. Currently, it's ticket factor is 1, compared to 1.5 for the B707 and Vickers VC10 and 1.25 for the more ...

Re: Private planes

Just found another freeware model of an ex-military type, now owned and operated privately by civilians. The Folland Gnat. Can I go ahead and research it's stats and create it as an fsairlines private plane? Although other warbirds exist in the database I thought I should check first, just in case a...

Paro Bhutan VQPR

Anyone familiar with Paro, Bhutan, will know it's one of the most difficult airports in the World to land and take-off at. Due to it's surrounding mountainous terrain, complex steep approach and climb-out, 6562ft runway and 7200ft altitude, only a select few aircraft can use it. For a while the larg...

Jet Stream

In fsairlines what is the maximum permissible tailwind allowed, in order to replicate the jetstream? Is it even allowed at all, even though real life airlines make use of it for West/East travel, and the right latitude? The reason I ask is, a few years ago I was accused of cheating by tampering with...

fuel flow / over-efficiency.

I apologise if this has being mentioned already, but a good search didn't find anything relevant. It's good that aircraft range data is now being updated (generally increased) to allow either ferry flights or longer range flights without a full payload, but would it be possible to start issuing mand...

Re: Aircraft edit

The data I'm referring to is the stats for each aircraft listed in the fsairlines database, the planes we can buy and operate. Looking back, I should have been more clear about this in my original post. I found the range given on Airbus' own website to be slightly more than that listed in the fsairl...

Aircraft edit

I recently tried editing the range of the A345 and A346 using data from Airbus' own website. Each edit was declined (the A345 edit was partially accepted). How are aircraft data edits verified? I think part of the problem is due to these aircraft having an option to have a slight increase in range a...

Re: To all airlines thinking about quiting...

Fair enough, thanks for replying. I enjoy what fsairlines already offers but there's always room for improvement. I'll just wait until I'm happy with what's on offer before I part with any of my hard earned cash.

Re: Private planes

Ok, thanks. I thought I should ask before taking time to research the stats of a warbird. I've found a good freeware MiG21 and then discovered at least 8 are operated privately, 7 in the US and one in Australia. I'm not sure what a good price would be though - there's a second hand example for sale ...

Private planes

What are the rules regarding the addition of new private aircraft? Can warbirds still be added for private purchase - provided that there are examples of these particular aircraft types, in 'real-world' use? An idea for the future might be for any existing warbirds to be listed only on the 'private ...

Ah, ok. Thanks. I'd always assumed that the weight of the passengers and cargo shown in the client was added to the plane, like the fuel.

Re: To all airlines thinking about quiting...

I've spent some time away from fsairlines (since January) but I'm now planning to get a years platinum membership and I'm trying to catch up on the events of the last few months. Has anything happened regarding the special use aircraft rule - if I pay to become a member, can I use all available plan...

Re: Client v1.2.0 Refuelling (PMDG and non PMDG)

Thanks for the instructions regarding fuelling. Since the PMDG 747x load manager must be used with the Client to fuel the aircraft, what happens with the passenger/cargo loading? In other words, when the fuel load is sent to fsx (by the PMDG load manager) and recognised by the Client, the passenger ...

Re: To all airlines thinking about quiting...

CEOs do currently have access to special use aircraft, all you have to do is submit a support ticket with the following information to request that you can purchase those aircraft. Unless the rules have changed again recently (within the last couple of weeks), only airlines with 5 or more pilots ar...
