Re: Private aircraft maintenance

What is its status in %? I am thinking "repair" will bring the maintenance up to date if it is outdated but I didn't think private planes had to have bi-annual checks. You can bring the status back to 100% with the repair tab. I just bought a plane to test and yeah the repair will bring the status u...

Re: Maintenance Center Profits

Yup, at the risk of cutting my own business ... LOL I would suggest 35% floor for partner airlines and 50% for other airlines. Can only do it for "cost" for your own airplanes. That would give at least some incentive for people to get their own centers.

Re: Maintenance Center Profits

Regarding Maintenance Center Profits: Why do VA's keep giving away service to other airlines for free? By offering service to anyone and everyone at 25% they are making $0 money on the jobs. I mean I don't mind, as it gives me no incentive to build and maintain my own maintenance center in my little...

Re: In Flight Failures

Just had my first in flight failure - flaps. And on long final coming into KLAS so just a matter of changing the vRef's for a flaps up landing and letting it roll out on the reversers until whoa'd up to normal braking speeds. The CRJ2 was coming here for an A check anyway (97.3%) so good timing. Act...

Re: Changing Seat Configurations

Yes, most of those videos were made quite some time ago and a lot of changes have been made to the system since. It has been my intention to remake them all but real world life seems to get in the way and takes up most of my time at the moment.

Re: Advanced Finance

Is there any advantage at all to leasing gates at airports? I assume it is optional to simulate ongoing business expenses but was curious what incentive there would be in this world to lease a gate vs not leasing a gate. Also will the system know if we have more than one aircraft at the airport but ...

Re: Aircraft Transfers

One thing we don't have in our world is "air carrier certification" - aka permits to fly for profit in certain (or all) parts of the world. I was imagining my little air charter operation in Michigan USA would not be permitted to fly for hire over in Europe because our operation centers on US/Canada...

Re: Leased Planes Seating

Another question on leases: Will they automatically renew or terminate? I've got a sweet deal on my 737-800 going and would like to keep it "forever". LOL I can lease this airplane for 8.6 years for the cost of one used one on the Trader List.

Re: Aircraft Transfers

Actually upon further review, I might suggest a transfer fee price increase of about 25% to A) give the operators of the transfer company a profit as they are pretty much doing it for "cost", B) give VA operators a choice of flying the aircraft themselves to save money. Although with most flying at ...

Re: Aircraft Transfers

This is also the reason I have two platinum accounts and a "free pilot" account. So I have "staff" to do beta testing and things like this without affecting my primary VA, Fly Vegas. My "test VA" is Mid Michigan Air Charters, loosely based on air taxi and regional operations that are very typical in...

Re: Aircraft Transfers

Nope. Spot on in my book. Well done sir, I bet this is the first time anyone has tried to match it with actual flight time/expenses. I could have gone cheaper paying the pilots 0 with a flight revenue % but that's not realistic either. Primary pilot got $30 an hour and when "the boss" had to come he...

Re: Aircraft Transfers

THE RESULTS ARE IN ........... https://i.imgur.com/kBo0wik.jpg SUMMARY: A standard transfer is faster overall than flying the airplane and is less expensive, however this was a small sample size with a relatively small airplane crossing an ocean, unable to "fly direct". At 61.5 hours for a standard...

Re: Aircraft Transfers

Well this is interesting ..... My "free account" pilot was running out of hours of service so I used my platinum to buy a ticket to the airplane and put the free pilot in the jump seat and the flight received 1 economy ticket income. The airplane does not have any economy seats either, 9 all biz cla...

Re: Aircraft Transfers

I have actually modified the 2nd half of my journey, extending the legs out into the 600-700nm range instead of 350-400 and in doing so was able to come up with a much better result as far as the "route curve" goes. I am only picking airports where Jet A fuel is available per fsxmap.com, smaller str...
