Re: Sayin´ THANK YOU!
I agree! Thank you, FlyNET staff, for such a prompt resolution. I thought you handled the last few days in a very classy way. Thanks, too, for continuing to make this site better and more enjoyable for so many people. I'm starting to teach myself a little PHP and MySQL and it gives me an even greate...

Re: Unable to fly hanger aircraft
I had a problem like that once when I transferred an aircraft. When I transferred, I had typed the airport ICAO in lower case. Apparently, it matters to FlyNET. When I transferred it to the same airport, spelled in uppercase, it worked.

Re: Newbie Walkthrough (Everything you need to know)
You can't do charters with private aircraft in the real world, either. You need an air carrier certificate, which makes you, well, an airline. What private aircraft do you need v$200,000,000 for, anyway? v$25,000,000 gets you a slick Gulfstream that will take you anywhere in the world faster than mo...

Re: Newbie Walkthrough (Everything you need to know)
The point of buying your own plane is to SPEND money. What's the point of MAKING money if you can't use it for anything? Personal airplanes in FlyNET serve the same purposes as personal airplanes in the real world: recreation, transportation, and dissipation of surplus money. If it's not your thing,...

Re: Crashes and speeds
What I do to watch my groundspeed is open the GPS window, right-click it and select "undock window," then drag it to the corner of the screen so most of it is invisible, but the "GS" readout is just right in the corner. Doesn't cover up much of anything useful on most panels, and it gives a nice, ha...

Re: Flight simulator NOT running
Same thing happened to me when I installed in Vista. You have to run FlyNET in compatibility mode for Windows XP. Then it works fine.

Re: "MS Flight Simulator Not Running" error
Joe, Thanks for the timely response. FSUIPC appeared to be installed just fine, but I installed it again just for good measure. That didn't fix the problem. What did end up working was to run FlyNET in compatibility mode for XP. I haven't been able to flight test it yet, but that did get me around t...

"MS Flight Simulator Not Running" error
Hello, Couldn't find anything about this, so I thought I'd ask the question: I recently got a new computer, running Vista. I'm still using FS9. The FlyNET client seems to be working fine, but when I click "fly booked flight" I get an error message that "MS Flight Simulator is Not Running" even when ...

Fictitious Airports in FlyNET?
I greatly enjoy being allowed to add airports to the FlyNET database, and have used the feature to add a couple already. They have all been real airports, and I've used the best data available. My question is for the management, and also to see what others here think: May we add airports to the data...

I think there should be at least one Cessna 172 for rent at every airport. This should be made available by the FlyNET system. This is pretty realistic, as the 'Hawk is the backbone of the rental fleet in the US, and you can find one for rent at practically every municipal airport. Not sure about pl...

That works great as long as the plane you're flying is (at least slightly) profitable. I really enjoy flying the King Air and other planes that just don't carry enough passengers to make a profit at coach fares, and it's kind of a bummer to have your losses multiplied by a few hundred. So, I just su...

You can currently add any airport you want to the database. From the main site, just click "airports" under the database heading on the left-hand side. Then, at the top of the page that comes up, click "add airport to database" and fill out the form. It will have to be approved by the admins, but th...

... the system just flew all the flights in your schedule for you? Here's how it could work: You write a schedule. Currently, everyone does this, but the times mean nothing. But this way, let's say the FlyNET system will execute your schedule for you, provided the following conditions are met: 1) Yo...
